Camera Dilemma

As I see all the wonderful work on so many blogs, I am taken by folks commitment to taking their own photographs as the basis of their blog or at least do it on a regular basis.  I loved sfgirlbybay in her Sunday walk about town.  And Staci at her new blog what's your story shows beautiful votives photographed by the acclaimed Mira Shah . Finally, littlebrownpen has been a source of constant inspiration to me.  I especially love how she groups her photographs by color.

I would like to begin to see the world through a lens but I'm torn over what camera to buy.  It seems like cameras are changing so quickly I can't make a decision.  I also love the old black & white photography.  Any suggestions from all you lovely photographers - both professional and amateur?

  1. I recently got my hands on the Nikon D90. I am such a photography amateur so take my recommendation with a grain of salt, but I absolutely love it. I use a 50mm 1.4 lens and it makes everything feel so so lovely. I find it's a great place to start, at the very least!

  3. Alas I do not have a recommendation, because I am terribly amateur in the photography department, but I must say that your blog is eloquent and serene, and I know that whichever camera you select will reflect your calm and discerning eye for peaceful beauty.
