The Beauty of Words

I have to admit - I have a love of the written word.  I am happiest when the pile of books on my bedside table is large.  Words themselves are beautiful to look at and I'm happiest when surrounded by them. I have old french flash cards, passports, documents, and even a hand written opera scattered throughout the house.  Every time I look at them, they make me smile.

The Comfort of Books

I'm quite content right now knowing I still have a big stack of books I received for Christmas.  I have about  twenty pages left in The Happiness Project.  I think the next one I read will be a novel set in Shakespeare & Company - the English language bookstore of Paris.  I'm still sick so I'm fairly certain this weekend will primarily be spent at home.  Perhaps a new design book would be good too.  Any suggestions?

Oh I Love This!

This Christmas I received a huge new stack of books that I have been savoring.  At this time of year when the daylight is scarce and the nights are long, I love to curl up in my bed or on the sofa and read a good book.  There is nothing better!  I titled this Oh I Love This because that's the name of the brilliant tumblr site I got via Sacramento Street.  I love it too!

Autumn Inspiration

I've had the case of the sniffles this week and look forward to the weekend and some time lounging at home.  Wish I had a copy of the Herald Tribune but I have a stack of books to work on and after reading Caitlin's great entry on books over at Sacramento Street , I have another long list to pick up at the local bookstore!
